Zojirushi Thermal Stainless Steel Food Jar : Keep it Cool (or Hot)
I have a bit of a tea habit. I work at home, so the first thing I do when I get up is make chai tea (a combination of teas with unsweetened soy milk) and pour it into my one-liter thermos. Easy enough, but how to keep up the routine when I'm on the road? Easy, I use a Zojirushi thermal food jar. It does an excellent job of keeping food or beverages cold or hot. I used it on a recent trip to keep myself in soy milk! I'm so frugal that I don't like wasting anything or paying for things I don't use. So, once I opened up a carton of soy milk in my hotel room, I wanted to be able to keep it fresh for the entire three days. At night I kept the container in the mini fridge in my room, during the day I kept it in my trunk storage so I could access it and make chai whenever I wanted. One day, I packed the car, went to a few meetings, then drove three hours in between destinations, and when I arrived my soy milk was still cold!!! It had been sitting in my car for hours. Nice. It also hadn't leaked, which is always good. With its sturdy, pressurized lid and vacuum insulation, the Zojirushi food jar has been a very handy travel item for me. It's also ideal for packed lunches. I can bring soup or my favorite Indian or Thai dishes--it holds almost two cups of liquid--and they're always still warm when I'm ready to eat. Available in pink and in stainless, in two sizes, 11 3/4 oz (model SW-EAE35) and 17 oz (model SW-EAE50). Eco Creds: Reusable. Toss it in your bag and use it instead of plastic take-away containers at restaurants. Bottom Line: When I can bring my own food it's easier to eat healthy and save money.--E.D.
