Dr. Hauschka Rosemary Foot Balm : Self-Love for the Sole
I woke up this morning feeling tired and irritable and hopeless. And my back hurt. My double-bag organic chai tea didn't perk me up as it usually does. Something was missing... Then I remembered that I had a box of natural body products to sample ... in particular some Rosemary Foot Balm from Dr. Hauschka. How could I have forgotten? I love Dr. Hauschka products. They're all natural and they're created in Germany by experts in holistic body care. So, I started rubbing the creamy balm into my foot, massaging every toe, moisturizing my crusty heels, and giving myself a deep tissue dive into my arches. As I practiced some serious self love on each foot, I noticed that the combined scents of rosemary, save, and hint of citrus was opening up my sinuses, reviving both my energy and my attitude. Nothing is better than a foot massage. (And I should know; I wrote an entire book about foot care). How could I have forgotten that I can do it myself. The best thing about this magic balm is it keeps working long after application, which makes sense since there are thousands of nerve endings in the feet. I sat and wrote on my laptop for hours, slightly intoxicated by my sweet-smelling feet. Another bonus: since I am a big procrastinator and constantly get up to get water, tea, make a phone call, Swiffer my living rom, I totally appreciate that the balm doesn't leave my feet greasy. Just a minute or two after applying it, I walked across the room to explore my box of Dr. Hauschka goodies, and the bottoms of my feet were completely dry. I didn't slip or slide. Amazing. A day later I actually read the box, and found out that the balm contains silk powders and rosemary essential oil. The powders absorb excess moisture from the skin and keep it balanced, the oil refreshes. If you have cold feet, it also warms them up. (I'm going to send a tube to my ex, who technically isn't even my ex because of his cold feet problem). Had I been patient enough I would have done a nice foot soak and taken a pumice stone to my feet before applying the lovely balm. So, I'll try that in another review when I soak in Dr. Hauschka Lavender Bath. Bottom Line: This is a must-have for your cosmetic bag. Guys will love it, too. If you hike, run, stand a lot, or have problems with stinky feet, you absolutely should try this delicious foot balm.--E.D.
