Smartwool Women's Lightweight V-Neck Top: Every Day, All Day

Usually I'm all about the baggy tops, but it's holiday party season so I'm looking for a more streamlined look.

Smartwool's Lightweight V Neck is my top du jour. Made out of 100% merino wool, this long-sleeved pullover top has a flattering, body-hugging fit thanks to its princess seams. The modest v-neck collar is a nice contrast to the slim fit. I also like that the top has a nice length through the torso and sleeves. Most women's tops are too short for my extra long body.

Most often, I wear this top with my favorite low-rise jeans or my sassy merino skirt. I also wear it for my daily power walks - it's so lightweight and great at wicking that it's perfect for exercise. I stay warmth, and my body temperature stays regulated. And sometimes...I sleep in it, too, because it's so soft and warm that I don't want to to take it off.

Available in black, brown, green, light blue, magenta. Sizes XS-XL. Smartwool also makes men's tops out of the same lightweight merino wool. I tested a women's size M, although I always wear a L. It's a snug fit, but I like the look.

Bottom Line: The perfect top for me. I can wear it for a variety of occasions and activities (without washing in between - wool is naturally odor-resistant), it's slimming (always nice), and it packs and travels well. --E.D. (Dec 09)
