Smartwool Microweight Tee: Cool Down in This Hot Top

Having tested Smartwool's Women's Short-Sleeved Microweight Tee in the past, I was curious to see what makes the new version of this super lightweight merino top so "new."

Basically, it's hotter. And when I say hotter, I mean cuter. With a scoop neck (that's still modest) and princess seams, the Microweight Tee is more form-fitting than the previous version. It's a slimmer fit that shows off my attributes.. and, unfortunately, my bulging gut. I have gained weight since I tested the last top. I am getting back into yoga and pilates starting tomorrow!

I love the longer cut through the torso and the flattering fit. I also love that the Microweight Tee (style 13-435NP) is still totally trail- and gym-worthy. However, I think I'll be wearing it more often with jeans and a silver choker necklace and my dangly red earrings.

All of the seams are flat-locked to prevent chafing; still, it took me a minute to get used them. I've worn this top on several hour-long power walks and forgotten all about the seams the minute I started walking.

The new tee is made out of the same ultra fine merino wool, Smartwool's thinnest wool, as the previous version (style 13-411) . It's highly breathable, ideal for hot temps, and does a great job of wicking and regulating my body temperature. It's also naturally odor-resistant, so I can wear it many, many times before it smells like it needs a wash.
