Seventh Generation Natural Tub & Tile Cleaner : Make it Shine

I'm a terrible housekeeper, but I do keep my bathroom relatively clean. Still, I don't pay much attention to the tub and tiles because I can hide them from guests with my shower curtain.

Today, I decided I wanted shiny tiles. I've seen them before---at nice hotels, at my friends' homes. Why couldn't I have them, too? The thing is, clean tiles can still be speckled with soap scum. I hate that. I used to use Lysol or Pine Sol (love the smell, but I'm allergic to the chemicals), but I haven't had anything abrasive in my shower since my last boyfriend. (Hee hee - couldn't resist that.) Would my new Seventh Generation Emerald Cypress & Fir Tub and Tile Cleaner work?

Made out of a plant-derived cleaning agent and essential oils and extracts of cypress, fir, and lime, this tub & tile cleaner has a much fainter scent than chemically-laden (and -scented) cleaning products, so that's a good start for me. Until I used this cleaner I had to wear a HEPA filter mask whenever I cleaned.

My tiles cleaned up very well, although I had to use a scrubby on some of the tiles with caked-on soap scum. Even my fixtures are shiny. I've never taken the time to make that happen!

Next, I soaked my Shamwow in water and wiped off the tiles a few times - just to make sure I rinsed off all the cleaning solution (I have a bad habit of using too much, thinking I need it). They look great. In fact, they've never looked better. I never would have taken the time to scrub out those tough tiles if I'd used a harsh, chemical cleaner. Now they're clean--no spots, no streaks, no residue.

The Tub & Tile spray does smell like a cleaner, but it has a faint scent that dissipates quickly.

My bathroom is so clean now, I want to have a party so I can show it off!

Eco Creds: made out of a plant-derived cleaning agent that is biodegradable, non-toxic, not tested on animals, and kosher-certified.

Bottom Line: I actually enjoyed cleaning my tub and tiles. And I feel so much better having a clean bathroom. With cleaning products I like to use, I'll be sticking to a regular cleaning schedule rather than putting off my chores for months (yes, months) at a time.--E.D. (May 09)
