Seventh Generation Free & Clear Natural Laundry Detergent : Earth- and Nose-Friendly
If you saw my messy apartment, you might think that I don't care much about housekeeping. I don't. But for some odd reason, I love doing laundry. I've been using Seventh Generation's Free & Clear Natural Laundry Detergent for a couple of months, and I still have plenty in the box for many more loads. Because I have a small, front-loading washing machine and because this detergent is "ultra concentrated," I barely use a teaspoon full for each load. I used to hate powder detergents because they were clumpy, and if any moisture got into the box, the powder turned into a hard lump of useless crud. I also blamed these detergents for leaving little blotchy marks of undissolved powder on my clothes. So, I'm really happy that Seventh Generation's Natural Laundry Detergent is super fine -- it looks like a mixture of salt and baking soda. It dissolves completely; after months of use I haven't had any residue. My favorite features of this laundry detergent - it does not contain perfume or dyes and it's effective in cold water. I'm highly allergic to everything and chemically sensitive. I also like to lower my footprint by washing in cold water. With this detergent I get clean clothes that aren't perfumed. Since I've been doing lots of laundry as part of my apparel testing, I can also say that the detergent has been gentle on my clothes. I always hang dry my laundry on a wooden rack, so between air drying and using SG's laundry detergent I'm also helping my clothes maintain their color and last longer. Also available in a liquid formula. Eco Creds: made out of plant-derived cleaning agents, biodegradable, hypo-allergenic. Bottom Line: Cleans well, no residue, no allergies. Just fresh-smelling clothes. I like it.--E.D. (Nov 09) BUY ONLINE : $8.07/ 48 ozs., shop at drugstore.com
