Prana Classic Organic Beanie : Simply Street

I love wearing hats, and I really love wearing beanies. I like the snug fit. I like how beanies make my head look. I like the simplicity; just a pull-on cap that anyone can wear anywhere.

Prana loves beanies, too, and they have quite a variety from which to choose, such as the Crochet Beanie, the Hand Knit Beanie, the Heart for Africa beanie, the Chunky Stripe Beanie, the Stripe Beanie, the Cinch Flower Beanie, the Rib Two Tone Beanie, the Soft Visor Beanie, and my favorite, the Classic Organic Beanie. It's labeled as a "men's" item, but I wear it anyway!

I like to cultivate a stylin' street look, so I'm all about black, all black. The Classic Organic Beanie is ideal for me. As beanies go, I like that it covers my ears but not my earlobes. To me, beanies are more about fashion (and hiding bad hair) than weather protection. If it's cold enough that my earlobes need to be covered, then I'm after an entirely different outfit and cap.

Still, the Classic Organic Beanie keeps my head warm. I'm always running late, which means I'm always running out of the house with wet hair. Even in 40 degree temps my double-layered organic beanie keeps me covered. I love that I'm wearing organic cotton, too. No pesticides on my head, and you can't beat the softness of natural fibers. Cotton is 'the fabric of our lives," after all.

Other beanies may have bright colors or fancy stripes, but for me, less is more. I like to commit to a solid color. I like that the Classic Organic Beanie is reversible (the contrast color for the black beanie is a light grey) and that it's constructed to form a nice round pocket that cups the top of my head. I've had some troublesome beanies that bunched up on top and made me look like I had horns under my cap, and that ain't right.
