Navitas Naturals Power Snack : "Bite-Sized Goodness"

As a vegan, I'm always on the lookout for healthy snacks that will satisfy my hunger, give me energy, and most important, are easy to stash in my purse. I was so grateful to discover Navitas Naturals Power Snack bites.
Made out of wholesome raw foods, such as dates, chia and sunflower seeds, nuts, and powders made out of Peruvian plants and berries, including maca (a root plant from the Andes purported to boost energy and stamina), lucuma (a golden fruit used as a natural sweetener) and camu (a berry high in vitamin C), the Power Snack bites are just what I was looking for. They're soft and easy to chew, with a light crunchiness from the seeds, I can eat them on-the-go without any fuss or mess, and they don't contain refined sugar. I love that.
When I want a snack, or a quick breakfast with my tea, I don't want sugar. My Power Snack bites derive their mellow sweetness from the dried and powdered fruit ingredients. I like the small bite-sized pieces; they're simple to eat. I also like the resalable pouch the bites come in because it makes my Power Snack bites easy to transport.

The Power Snack bites come in three flavors, Citrus Chia Superfood, Cacao Goji, and Blueberry Hemp. I sampled the first two, and like both flavors. The Citrus Chia bites have a citrusy zest that combines with the date flavor for a fresh tasting chewy snack. I have to admit that I'm probably more of a Cacao Goji fan because I'm a chocolate addict! So, I tend to eat the Citrus Chia Superfood bites during the day, and often save the Cacao Goji bites for dessert!

I like having some healthy fast food that's high in fiber and vitamin C and contains antioxidants and omega fatty acids. At $8.99/8-ounce bag I first thought these snacks were two expensive, but I regularly spend $1.50 or more for nutrition bars that are 1.5 ounces, so the Power Snack bites are about the same price per ounce.
Bottom Line: I love these tasty, handy snacks. They're great for travel, too, when I'd rather have a nutritious nibble than a high-fat airplane cookie!--E.D. (Oct 2011)
