Nau Women's Versa Blazer and Men's Riding Jacket : Sophisticated, But Never Snobby

Before I received Nau's Versa Blazer to wear test, I was often at a loss about which jacket to wear for evenings out and as a cover up for more formal occasions.

What's the point of taking the time to assemble my fancy evening outfit--the perfect skinny jeans with an open-neck shirt or a little black dress--if I top if off with a bulky fleece jacket or a rain coat? Also, I'm not the type of person to buy fancy little evening jackets to match each of my dresses, so I need an all-purpose jacket for those rare evenings when I'm wearing a skirt or dress and need something nicer than my every day jackets. With Nau's Versa Blazer, I can achieve a casual yet sophisticated look that works for all sorts of outings and events.

Made out of a mostly recycled polyester soft shell fabric, the Versa Blazer is both classy and functional. I'm not normally a blazer fan, but this jacket seems to be subtly semi-fitted and still loose and comfortable. When I wear it I don't feel hemmed in or bulky because there are no shoulder pads...or any other excess material.

Like all of Nau's clothing, the Versa Blazer is built to stand up to the elements while maintaining high quality and high fashion standards. I love that. I also love that I feel so stylish when I wear Nau garments--like I could even walk the streets of New York or Paris and people wouldn't be able to tell I was a tourist. Somehow Nau manages to make beautiful clothing that isn't intimidating. I didn't know fashion could be so fun.

I like the open pockets on the front of the blazer. They're angled and the edges are curved, giving the blazer it's loose feel. When I'm out on the trail, I like jackets with zippered pockets, but for evening and urban wear, I love the Versa Blazer's pockets because I can burrow my hands into them on cold, blustery days. For security, there's a hidden zippered pocket on one side of the jacket for my keys and credit cards. Perfect.

For men, Nau makes the Riding Jacket, made out of similar fabric.
