Nau Profile Fleece Hoody : For Men and Women

Fleece has come a long way since the chunky 1/4-zip pullover I used to wear 20 years ago. The new fleece is thin, soft and fuzzy on the inside, smooth on the outside. If it happens to be Nau fleece, it's also super stylish and sustainable.

Ever since I slipped into my Nau Profile Fleece Hoody on a chilly April day, my other fleece jackets have been relegated to my back closet. I love the cut on this jacket --it's semi-fitted with a bit longer length than the average fleece jacket. So, I get a more flattering silhouette and better protection from the cold (especially when I'm wearing low-rise jeans). The front and back edges of the jacket are gently rounded, which adds to the slim profile.

I'm 6' tall, so finding outerwear that isn't frumpy can be tricky. I'm also a city gal, so sporting an urban look is important to me. I love that the Profile Fleece Hoody doesn't have any logos or zipper pulls or any other decorative elements that might identify it as a trail jacket (not that I couldn't and don't wear it for outdoor adventures -- it's a well-constructed, durable jacket that's completely up for wild weather and terrain). The design speaks for itself, and it says, "I am sleek and savvy and sophisticated."

The thin fleece feels ultra soft against my skin, which I appreciate because I most often wear this jacket over a short-sleeved top. The material (recycled polyester) contains 12% spandex, so it's a dream to wear. I can move, shake, and shimmy all over town, and my Profile Fleece Hoody moves right along with me.

The thing about Nau garments that I love, especially when it comes to their jackets---is that the minute I put one on I can tell how much thought went into its design. The pockets are in the right places, the zippers are easy to use, the seams don't chafe, and the fit is incredible. The hood on this jacket cups the back of my head perfectly, holding it in place as I go about my business. It's an ingenious design because Nau doesn't need to add excess materials like drawstrings and toggles. Brilliant.

The Profile Fleece Hoody has been around for awhile, and hopefully, will be part of Nau's lineup in season's to come. It gives us urban folks some outerwear that's a huge fashion step above the rest.
