Nau Women's Bi-Carious Shirt : Super Cool Hybrid Style

I like a nice button-down cotton shirt as much as the next gal, but I love the easy fit and movement I get when wearing t-shirts. So I was very happy to discover Nau's Bi-Carious shirt during a recent eco fashion reconnaissance outing at Portland's Lizard Lounge.

The Bi-Carious shirt is made out of ultra thin organic cotton. The back of the shirt is a stretchy jersey knit, and the sleeves and front of the shirt are constructed out of a thin, woven cotton. It's a great combo because I get a fitted look with plenty of stretch. I've never seen a shirt designed like the Bi-Carious before. It's a v-neck and it has a collar and buttons. A very flattering look.

I love how lightweight this shirt is. I'm pretty committed to wearing natural fibers, and the Bi-Carious is so thin that it breathes well and it dries quickly.

I I love that the buttons are spaced close together and that they're substantial but small. I've been disappointed by shirts from my past that had cheap, flimsy buttons. Nau takes every detail and makes it special. Every element is perfectly designed and balanced, the lines are elegant and clean, and the material feels incredibly soft against my skin.

The longish short sleeves are nice, too. I can wear the shirt as is or unbutton the ends and roll up the sleeves. There's a strap inside each sleeve that I can use to secure the sleeves in the rolled-up position. Sweet!

I've always had great luck with Nau apparel. They're shirts just seem to fit me as if they were custom made. The Bi-Carious is perfect - loose enough for total comfort and body conscious enough to look hot with jeans or with my favorite black skirt.

I love Nau's clothing for many reasons. Of course, I appreciate that they're all about sustainability, but mostly I'm crazy about they're clothes because they're designed with movement and style in mind. They always manage to make even a simple garment feel luxurious and unique. Each time I test a new top or jacket, I feel like I've found an original look. Another thing I like: they don't plaster logos on their gear. No tags inside the neckline of this top, either.

Bottom Line: Nau's Bi-Carious shirt is one of my all-time favorite tops. It's one of the most comfortable, stylish, versatile garments I have in my closet. Actually, it never makes it into my closet because I'm either wearing it or it's in the wash!--E.D. (April '10)
