Nate Organics Tees : Organic Cotton Tops For Men and Women
First, the men's tees, then the women's tees... I wear a lot of t-shirts, but they rarely attract attention, much less comments and questions. Then I started wearing my "Keep Calm and Carry On" tee by Nate Organics, and people on the street started asking me about my shirt. The saying comes from a propaganda poster created (but never used) by the British government at the start of World War II. (source: Wiki.) Now it's available in colorful posters and silk screened onto organic cotton t-shirts.
Nate Organics' tees look and feel pretty much like your basic cotton t-shirt (before tees made out beefy or super thin fabrics became popular), except that they're made out of organic cotton, they feel softer because they don't contain chemicals, they don't have size tags in the back (the NO logo and size are printed on the inside of the tee), and they have positive messages and images across the chest. (Click on image for larger view.) I've been wear testing several different Nate Organics tops, and they're all different. The "Keep Calm and Carry On" tee is designed to be worn inside out; it looks cool like that with exposed seams. I also have a "Buckwild" tee, black with a silver images of a deer buck on the chest, and a dark grey tee bearing a black seahorse. All of these tees fit well --not too boxy, not slim cut --and subtly make my wardrobe more interesting. It's nice to wear tees that call attention to important social messages while also being stylish. Some of the tees are turned inside out before they're silk screened, some are left with the seams inside and the image on the outside. The tees are available in a variety of bold colors and fashionable designs.
As for the women's tees....My girlfriend has been wearing the same "Keep Calm" tee in black, but on her tee the message shows on both sides. So, she can wear it right side out (i.e., inside out) where the lettering has a rubbed-of, well-worn look, or inside out (i.e., seems inside, design incorporation logo and size info out the back of the shirt bellow the neck ribbing) to reveal solid lettering that you need a mirror to see right. Cool. Another one of our testers has a women's tee in purple, with the slogan in a dark purple glitter iron-on. The women's tees run a bit small through the shoulders and chest. Busty gals may want to go up a size. One of our female testers, who's almost 6' tall, liked the length and fit of a men's medium over the women's large, which was a bit tight. Nate Organics is based in Vancouver, B.C. Click here to read more about the company and its eco principles.
Eco Creds: Made out of organic cotton. Bottom Line: I like knowing I"m wearing a product that's more eco-friendly than the average cotton tee. More than that, it's been nice wearing tees that make people want to talk to me. The more we talk, we can all walk the walk.--B.M.
