Loomstate Finley Dres : Summer Style

There's nothing quite as luxurious as an organic cotton/silk blend dress, especially if it's made by Loomstate.

Their Finley dress is perfect for summer parties or lazy afternoons. I have the dress in a light grey shade, which I can dress up with the right jewelry and shoes but most often just wear around the house (I work at home) and around town with chunky sandals. The dress also comes in black - which I think is the fanciest color for all evening events.

I love the material - it's silky and sheeny on the inside, cottony and matte on the outside. It feels incredible against my skin. Style wise, I like the contrast of elegance and simplicity in this dress. I want to show it off at parties, but I also want to run barefoot through the meadows in it.

I also like the casual deep v-neck and capped sleeves. The neckline, sleeves, and empire bodice are all made out of shiny side of the material for a subtle contrast. The rows of white hand stitching (well, it looks hand-stitched) on the bodice are also a nice design touch. The material is hand-dyed, with some tie-dyed stripes around the lower half of the dress. Nice.

When I first noticed the the care label in the dress said "dry clean only' I felt conflicted That's not so green. However, I checked with the company, and it's fine to hand wash this garment. Conflict resolved!!!
