Kiss My Face Olive & Honey Soap

I've found that many of the mass-produced face and body soaps are heavily scented. Some just smell like chemicals. Others are very drying. Not so with Kiss My Face's Olive & Honey Soap.

I'd been looking for a more natural bar soap to use in the shower on my face and body, and this gentle soap bar has been a real treat. The first thing I noticed was its natural smell. The smell is really just a hint of olive oil and a hint of honey that are naturally occurring from the ingredients, and although the ingredients list includes "fragrance," I couldn't detect anything strong or any other scent than olive and honey. (Their representative tells us that their fragrances are derived from natural plant extracts.)

I don't have sensitive skin, but at the same time, I don't want to use soaps that have chemicals in them or are drying. I want a soap that is moisturizing and sensitive enough for my face. The Kiss My Face Olive and Honey soap is a great soap for sensitive skin because it isn't laden with chemicals. It doesn't create as much lather as other soaps I've used, but that's because additional ingredients weren't added just for the purpose of making suds to make you think the soap is really doing its job.

I could tell my Olive & Honey soap was doing its job because it felt soft on my skin as I lathered it around my body. My skin felt light and soft even after I rinsed it off. The olive oil in the soap moisturizes skin and the honey attracts moisture from the air to hydrate skin.

Now that I have tried the Olive and Honey soap, I'm definitely interested in trying the other Kiss My Face soaps. I like the fact that their ingredients are natural, they don't use artificial colors, and they don't test their products on animals. Although, if you washed your dog with the Olive and Honey soap, you'd have one nice soft puppy!

Bottom Line: This soap is a big step up from the bar I was using, but it was still reasonably priced.--N.S. (July '11)
