Kate Grenier Magnets
I gave up beer for green tea years ago -- but I still love a good six pack...of magnets! Made out of recycled beer bottle caps from Canada, these fancy fridge magnets combine eco and artistic sensibilities in a variety of fun themes. They're gift-ready in small tins, which I love. Can't get enough little tin boxes. There's a magnet set for every interest, destination, and political party, such as: chocolate, champagne, music, cupcakes, poker, alpacas, the environment, beer, Mexico, New York City, Japan, democrat, republican. There's even an Obama magnet set. Whichever pack you like, it's worth clicking through the web site to read the quirky descriptions of each set. I love these magnets because they're big enough that I don't drop them when trying to use them and because the magnets are strong. I'm always trying to stick two or three pieces of paper under my magnets, only to have the entire ensemble fall to the floor as I walk out of the room. Not a problem with my fancy new magnets. Bottom Line: What a great idea--combining recycling and reusing and art. A perfect gift item. --E.D. (April 09) Price: $18 shop at link below or on manufacturer's site.
