Jurlique Herbal Recovery Eye Cream : Sweet Relief

I don't wear makeup, and I like to keep my body and face care routine simple. So, it never occurred to me to use eye cream. Wasn't a facial moisturizer enough?

Apparently not. The skin under and around my eyes is a mess because I have chronic sinus problems and allergies. I always have dark circles under my eyes and the same darkness on my eyelids--it looks like I'm wearing eye shadow! My eyes are often itchy and irritated, too. Until recently, I just lived with this. Then I discovered Jurlique's Herbal Recovery Eye Cream. It's heavenly. It's my fav!

When I first opened the .5 oz tube I was completely enticed by the fresh, clean smell. The cream contains rose, chamomile, pansy, sweet violet, marshmallow, daisy, and black elder. It has a faint rose smell, with hints of some other lovely plant I couldn't identify that perfectly complements and balances the rose scent (maybe it was the marshmallow?). I just knew I wanted to get it on my skin. I should note here that I'm highly chemically sensitive and can't use most body products sold at the drugstore because I have a bad reaction to the chemical fragrances they contain. (I'm also not a big fan of roses, but this cream just smells so luscious.) I didn't need to worry about that with the Herbal Recovery Eye Cream because Jurlique uses plant and herb extracts in its products. The scent I smelled was all natural.

I put a dab of the cream on my fingertip and gently rubbed it into the area under my eyes and into my eyelids. It felt immediately cooling and refreshing--the eye skin equivalent of drinking a cool class of cucumber water! I later read the product specs and found out that the Herbal Recovery Eye Cream contains cucumber fruit extract , which has soothing and revitalizing properties. Of course.

The eye cream also contains plant proteins, as well as eye bright and arnica, two herbs that help reduce inflammation. Together they reduce the appearance of dark circles and the puffiness I have every morning when I wake up. The cream also contains a variety of flower extracts from native Australians plants (Jurlique is an Australian company) that are high in antioxidants and polyphenols, which is a fancy way of saying that this cream helps counteract the damaging effects of all your skin comes into contact with (like free radicals, the sun, the wind, etc.).

I've been using Jurlique's Herbal Recovery Eye Cream most days for several weeks, and I LOVE IT. When I wake up each morning, I am pretty much miserable with a stuffy head and puffy face, but I look forward to applying my eye cream. It really does give me a little boost because it smells so sweet and it feels so soothing on my skin. I think the cream has also helped me reduce the dark circles under my eyes. My skin feels and looks so much better when I use it. I'm happy that I get some relief and that the cream is nourishing my skin.

Note: A tiny dab of cream will go very far, so this tube will last a long, long time. It's very light, it's absorbed quickly, and it never leaves my skin greasy. LOVE it.
