I've never worn lipstick before, but I've been addicted to lip balm since I was a tween with a drawer full of Bonnie Belle Lip Smackers. I loved the fruity flavors.
Now that I'm old and concerned about skin cancer .... as well as the environment, I've got a new lip balm with real fruit inside! Actually, I have three: Playful, Joyful, and Naturally Clear.
These moisturizing sticks are all natural, made out of plant and seed oils, organic citrus juices, honey, coconut oil, and essences of mango and passion fruit---to moisten--plus titanium dioxide to block the sun.
I use the clear stick most often, but I have to admit that it's fun to try some color every now and then. Playful gives me a red but not glaringly red pucker, and Joyful makes my lips shimmery pink. All three are easy to apply, and achieve the perfect balance between a glossy balm and a waxy stick. I never feel like my lips get gunky or creased. Instead, they feel soft...with a thin layer of protection.
Bottom Line: All natural protection, plus fun colors if you want to fancy yourself up.--E.D. (Nov 08)
