Jason Sunbrella Sunblock Spray SPF 26 : Coconut Dreams

If you're old enough to have spent your summers by the pool, slathered in Hawaiian Tropic, I think you'll appreciate Jason's Sunbrella Sunblock Spray.

When I first applied it, I smiled when I smelled the all natural scent of my youthful summers: coconut. I also appreciated that this tropical smelling concoction actually protects me from UV rays and contains antioxidants like Vitamin E (unlike the oil we used to get the deepest tans).

I love being able to spray on my sunscreen, although I still had to rub it in.The spray bottle is also more portable for me because it doesn't leak and at four ounces, doesn't take up space in my day pack. (I've had too many bottles of lotion come unscrewed in my bag - what a mess.)

I've been wearing the Sunblock Spray on my arms and legs for my daily hour-long hikes and power walks, and so far - no tan - which is the way I want it. It does leave my skin with a lotiony film (that I only notice if I touch my skin), as most body sunscreens do. That's why I use it for outings such as exercise or going to the beach where I'm sweaty and not thinking about whether or not my skin feels like it has lotion on it.

P.S. The coconut smell dissipates fairly quickly, but it's a nice surprise when you apply.

Eco Creds: Paraben free, made in the USA, some ingredients are certified organic.

Bottom Line: Get yourself to the pool, and this time heed your mother's advice: "Wear your sunscreen!"--E.D. (July 09)

"If 10 percent of U.S. households made a onetime purchase of lotion bottle without an attached pump, the plastic saved would be an estimated 250,000 pounds--enough lotion pumps to fill nearly 1,200 tanning booths from floor to ceiling."
