Indigenous Designs Beanie La Femme : Ooo La La!

I've always loved wearing hats, all types of hats. At 43, I still wear baseball caps. But that's all changing because this fall is the season of the eco beanie.

I'm going to sample and model as many fancy beanies as I can. Why? Because beanies can be so many things -- cute, elegant, decorative, warm, sexy, girlish, boyish, ladylike, trendy, cool, hip, and just plain fun.

When I first saw the La Femme beanie, I wasn't sure could pull off the look. After all, I'm a baseball cap girl, and this particular beanie is sort of flapperish. I wouldn't be able to just toss it on and run out in my organic jeans and bamboo t-shirt. I'd have to consider my earrings, and wear an outfit worthy of this seductive little organic cotton/tencel blend chapeau.

My main concern, though, was placement. The La Femme is cinched up a little bit in the back--that's easy enough. But the front--or sort of the side of the front--has a loop of material that cinches the front (or sort of side) and gives the beanie a sophisticated flair. And the deep dark red/burgundy color just put a bit more pressure on me. It's a color that demands respect (and attention).

Not to worry. The beanie arrived (size small), and fit perfectly because I have a cute little head. Apparently, I got the placement right, too, because my very fashionable neighbors agreed that the beanie looked tres chic on me. Yes!

So, now I'm waiting for the right guy to come along and ask me out on a fancy date in my fancy beanie. He won't be able to take his eyes off of me - because of the beanie and because of my special brand of charm, wit, and fanciness. (I should add that I'm not actually waiting for anyone because I'll be debuting my beanie with my ladies when we go for high tea -- I just like the idea of captivating some cute guy while wearing my hot beanie.)
