Ibex Pizzi Skirt : Get Busy in a Pizzi
Usually this time of year, I live in capri pants. It's not too hot yet, and when the late afternoon chill comes in I'm still warm enough. This year, I haven't even looked into my dresser for my favorite 3/4 length pants --- because I've been wearing my knee-length merino wool Pizzi skirt so often. Ibex's Pizzi is a longer, more mature cousin to it's shorter, sassier Lena skirt, which isn't to say it's not fun to wear. It's just a bit more modest, more casual, more everyday. With a flattering A-line cut and a nice wide waistband, it's easy to find a perfect fit. I can't stand fitted skirts that come up to my belly button; I much perfect the Pizzi style - I can wear the skirt low, around my hips, for maximum comfort. The thing I love about wearing skirts instead of shorts or capri pants is that I have total freedom of movement. If I have to run for my life, no problem. If I have to climb over a boulder, there's no inseam to blow. And when it's roasting hot, I have air circulation, plus the excellent wicking and breathing capabilities of merino wool. In black or brown, with a small velcro-enclosed pocket on the side of the skirt. Bottom Line: Merino wool is the new summer fabric. It wicks, it breathes, it's soft and drape-y, and rarely needs washing. This is the kind of skirt you'll have for years.--E.D.
