Helly Hansen Men's Ekolab Shorts :
Soft on the Planet, Tough on the Trail
When I find a piece of clothing I really like, I wear it every day. That's how it's been with my Helly Hansen Ekolab Shorts.
Thes shorts have everything I want for a pair of casual shorts. I have boxy knees, so I like my casual shorts to be long. Not down-to-my-ankles-silly-long but practical long. My Ekolab Shorts cover my knees just enough and still fit well without being baggy or restrictive.
The longer I have them, the more I like these shorts because the 100% organic cotton fabric gets softer with every wash. I like the technical texture of the rip-stop pattern woven into the fabric. I'm important to me that the materials and manufacturing processes are environmentally friendly--makes me feel like I made a responsible choice. A pair of summer shorts may not be the ultimate solution to our environmental woes but it's nice to know my mine aren't part of the problem.
I can tell that my Ekolab Shorts are built to take abuse: there's double or triple stitching where it counts, reinforced cargo and back pockets, and a sturdy front closure. I'm going to get a lot of use out of them before they wear out.
I used to think Helly Hansen just made foul weather gear for sailors. Turns out they make a whole slew of clothing for us landlubbers, too. They offer men's and women's styles for mountaineering, skiing, beach combing, and more. They even have a whole line of garments made with environmentally responsible materials and techniques.
Bottom Line :
Another bonus: my keys and cell phone stow securely in the front pockets, and I don't have to worry about them falling out when I sit down. --A.S. (Aug 09)
