Helly Hansen Ekolab Cargo Pant : Lightweight, Tough, Travels Well

After wearing skinny jeans almost exclusively the past few years, I was looking for some baggy pants. I wanted the same low rise, I wanted style, but I wanted loose, casual, kick-around-town or lounge-in-my-condo pants. And I wanted organic.

So, here I am, loving Helly Hansen's Ekolab Cargo Pants. They're made out of tough but soft organic ripstop twill cotton. I can see the grid of toughness in the fabric weave; it gives the pants a nice look and texture.

I'm normally a size 10 in women's pants, and a size 32 Cargo Pant fits me perfectly. I love the two inch-wide waistband that has a built-in belt (for show), four inch-wide belt loops, and one super wide belt loop on the back of the waistband that's stitched in place and has a few metal grommets holding it down for good measure.

Love the large pockets on these pants. The back pockets are rounded and slightly slanted, with a one-button flap that keeps things in place but also allows easy access. The cargo pockets on each side seam are similarly styled, but bigger. Finally, the two front pockets are plenty deep.

With so much pocket volume, I thought these pants would look frumpy on me and billowy through the legs. I was wrong. Somehow, the low rise, wide waistband (two buttons), and generous cut through the legs work perfectly on my tall frame. I love these pants. They look great on (have received many compliments), give me more space, but still give me the low waist I love.

Available in Brown or Light Grey. Note: these pants run loooong. I'm a 33/34 inseam, and I have to fold them up a few times. I like that look, but shorter ladies might want to have them hemmed.
