Guyot Stainless Steel Bottles : The Forever Bottle

I like to take a water bottle when I go out.   But I've been growing increasingly aware of the environmental and health related downsides of cycling through disposable plastic bottles.   I wanted a replacement that was ultra durable, eco-friendly, and water-tight.  The Guyot Designs Stainless Steel Bottle exceeded my criteria.

This stainless bottle is pretty much indestructible.    I especially like that it doesn't add a flavor to my beverage.   It even remained flavor free after I carried energy drink in it for a day then went back to water.    When I left it in the hot car for the afternoon, the water remained cool. The graceful curved sides of the commuter and backpacker models add style to the already cool look of stainless steel.   

The lid is made of heavy-duty nylon and sports a generously sized o-ring for a leak-free seal.    The texture of the lid makes it easy to grip for hassle free opening.   The rope tether is a nice touch--the lid will never fall of and roll under the car or worse, to a place I can't reach. I also have the option of removing the tether for times I'm feeling like speed is the most important factor.

On the environmental end of things, these bottles are made with post-consumer materials and are fully recyclable, but because they're so durable that shouldn't be an issue for a long time.   Also, Guyot has something called the "C-minus" program in which they purchase carbon offsets in excess of what manufacturing the bottle produces making it carbon negative. Very Cool!
