Green Forest Bathroom Tissue : "Soft on Nature, Soft on You"

Hmmm. What to say about bathroom tissue. It's quite a personal experience, and everyone has their favorites.

Personally, I'm all about using whatever gets the job done, preferably a product that's recycled and not whitened with chlorine bleach. So, Green Forest makes the grade on those two counts.

Naturally, the tissue is free of dyes and scents and safe for septic systems. Personally, I can't stand foofy toilet paper that feels like a towel or cotton shirt--it has that dusty residue and seems far to fancy for its use. And who wants to expose their most delicate parts to toxins and chemical scents? Not me.

What really wins me over about Green Forest-- they make their bathroom tissue out of 90% post-consumer recycled paper - not from trees. I like that a lot. Multi-use and until final use. I also like that Green Forest donates funds to environmental groups and has a partnership with River Network, a grassroots organization working to preserve, protect, and restore rivers and watersheds in the U.S.

A four-pack contains four 352-sheet rolls of two-ply tissue. Like I said, it does the job just fine. It's not as super long lasting my usual brand (that's dye-and scent-free but not recycled), but I'm all for the eco creds. (Packaged in a recyclable plastic wrap.)

So, the question for me is: do I go with Green or stick with Trader Joe's (their recycled paper doesn't have quite as high a post-consumer recycled content, but it's right up there). Green Forest is about .80+ cents more expensive for a twelve pack depending on where you shop. Still, if you order in bulk from Amazon, you can save $, and probably qualify for free shipping. You can even set it up so that your restock arrives in the mail at regular intervals. I love that--never run out of tp again.
