Good Society Slim Leg Jean : Stylishly Simple

So I would see these Good Society jeans on web retailers, and I liked the simple, lean style. Then I found out that the company was based in Seattle, not more than five miles from my house.
Naturally, I had to check it out. The company is run by friends who met in college, living and working out of one of their parents' homes. When I visited, I saw piles and piles of jeans -- of all styles, for both men and women. But the pair for me -- the Slim Leg Jean.
I'm tall, and I love low-rise jeans. I also love low-rise jeans that fit like guy's pants. I don't have big hips, so I really appreciate the straight/slim cut and the straight up waistband (i.e., it doesn't taper in). The pants hang where they hang, the legs are snug but not tight, and the length is perfect (it's about 34"). I love the super simple style -- it's like a pair of Levis, without the red tab, curly stitching, and button fly. Which makes them both simpler and fancier. They're also more eco, made out of organic cotton and chemical-free dyes.
They look great on, they're super comfortable for "skinny" jeans, and even with a bit of Lycra, they don't stretch out so much that I have to wash them every time I wear them (who does that?).
The jeans are pretty dark, and when I first got them I never took them off -- often keeping them on for my daily power walk--so I got a lot of dye on my legs for awhile. Some rubbed off on inner hem of my white tee, too. So, like the original Levi's I've worn and loved, these jeans needs some breaking in time. Lots of cold washes until the excess dye washes out.
Bottom Line: I love these well-designed jeans. They're simply stylish, perfect with tees and nice tops. They're also a great bargain for designer eco denim.--E.D. (Dec 08)
