Garden Kids Organic Cotton Pajamas : It's Cuddle Time

I recently had a conversation with my best friend about pajamas. She was looking for something warm for her girls, but most of the PJ's that she'd bought for cooler nights were either polyester or treated with chemicals to be flame-resistant--and she wasn't sure how she felt about these options anymore.

How timely that my editor asked me to review some organic cotton pajamas by Garden Kids, a California-based children's apparel company. Made out of a soft, untreated organic cotton, these jammies are nice and warm for breezy nights. There's even a little neck coverage with the mock-turtleneck style of the top.

The pajamas are two-piece "Long Johns," which I'm starting to appreciate now that my son is big enough to get up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom (having to unzip a pair of footed pajamas wakes up both of us more than necessary).

I love the fabric of these jammies, which comes in a range of stripes, is bright and cheery, and the colors come from low-impact, fiber-reactive dyes. I can have my son wear either top or bottoms during the day, too, and no one knows he's still in his PJ's. (Too bad they don't make them for adults). Another friend who has a little girl borrowed my son's lime-and-turquoise pajama top to keep her daughter cozy in the stroller and ended up wanting a pair of her own Garden Kids pajamas.
