Ecover Stain Remover : It Works!

I've never been that into my laundry. I separates darks from lights, and I've used "fragrance-free" laundry soap for years due to allergies. But I've never really done anything about stains.

I just assumed nothing could be done, and the few products I have tried didn't work. So, I was fairly skeptical about the stain removing powers of an all-natural product.

First time out, I tried it on chocolate stains, tiny flecks of brown on several of my shirts (when I read in bed at night, I often binge on fair trade chocolate). One wash, and the stains were gone. Second time, dried blood that had been through several washings already. It worked again.

Finally, olive oil that I spilled in six large round stains on the front of my favorite old stretched-out house shirt. One wash definitely made a difference, but the stains were still noticable. So, another wash. Still there. So, the third try I actually took my time and squeezed out a decent amount of the product to actually soak into each stain (the other attempts had been cursory wipes with the bristly end of the bottle and not much product). Again, the stains were gone.

Bottom Line: I'm sold. A product that works, is good for the environment, and doesn't have any chemicals that irritate my nose or skin.--E.D. (April 09)
