ecoSkin Peridot Dress : Hot to Trot

Right out of the box I knew I'd love wearing ecoSkin's Peridot dress. This sassy A-linish shift, made out of a blend of bamboo and tencel (with a pinch of lycra), is incredibly soft and drapy. It looks like super thin cotton and flows around my body like silk (without any static cling).

When I dress up I like to keep it simple - no ruffles or plunging necklines or fussy features that could prevent me from dancing all night in complete comfort (or from running for my life in the wee hours if I'm attacked on the mean streets post-festivities). Now, the Peridot is a bit more complicated than the basic tank top dresses I'm used to wearing. There are some folds and ties and two hidden pouch-like front pockets and a low neckline -- but it works on me. At first I was a bit self-conscious about the hotness -- could I really pull it off. I like the sleeveless style, and in temperate Seattle, I can wear this dress year-round. For chilly temps, I pair it with my ecoSkin Danubrite wrap, and I'm good to go. I like that I feel totally relaxed and comfortable in this dress. It does exactly what it's supposed to do, and I'm free to concentrate on having fun. the bamboo fabric helps the material wick away sweat, too, so I don't have to wash it every time I wear it. I never have to dry clean it, which makes it even more eco-friendly.
