Dr. Hauschka Normalizing Day Oil : For Balanced Skin

If you haven't already read the review of Dr. Hauschka Cleansing Cream, please do so now because the Normalizing Day Oil is the final step in a soothing, restorative skin care process that I use every day.

So, we've already established that I have problem with oily, blemished skin --- or, rather, I used to have problems. Now that I'm using Dr. Hauschka products, my skin has never looked better.

First, I wash my face with the Cleansing Cream (for all skin types), I spritz some refreshing Clarifying Toner on my face to give my pores the help they need to keep my face clear, then, I end my morning treatment with a drop of Dr. Hauschka's Normalizing Day Oil. (I also use these three products before bed.)

Normally, I wouldn't be able to grasp the concept of applying oil to my face since oil is my problem - but here's how it works. If your skin isn't balanced and healthy, if you use cleansers and toners that strip away your natural oils, your skin produces more oil. So, oil is good, especially if it's a blend of apricot kernel oil, sweet almond oil, wheat germ oil, and jojoba seed oil combined with extracts of carrot root, calendula, and other flower-based ingredients.

While my spritz of Clarifying Toner is still fresh, I gently rub just a drop of Dr. H's Normalizing Day oil into my skin. Amazingly, my skin doesn't feel oily. The three-step process leaves my skin feeling soft, supple, and rejuvenated. My skin doesn't feed dry, either, but it looks dry. For hours and hours. No shine.

The oil is supposed to heal my blemishes and help balance my natural oils---and it does an amazing job. I have breakouts every month, and since I've been using this three-step process, I've hardly used my zit cream (I used to have to wear it to bed every night to prevent breakouts.)

Next month, we'll be featuring several Dr. Hauschka moisturizers for all skin types.

Bottom Line: I never thought I'd have skin issues in my 40s, but thanks to Dr. Hauschka, I have a healthy, natural remedy that also feels like a spa treatment. Bottle contains one ounce, and lasts a long time.--E.D. (Oct '08)
