Burt's Bees Targeted Spot Treatment

It's humiliating enough having adult acne, then the harsh drugstore remedies burn my skin. Thankfully, I discovered Burt's Bees Targeted Spot Treatment, part of their Natural Acne Solutions line, and it's been a real help.

It's hard to find natural skin care products for acne, and to be honest, it's hard for me to find a Burt's Bees product I can use. Many of them contain a fragrance that I react to because I'm extremely sensitive to all fragrance except the mildest pure essential oils. The Targeted Spot Treatment is the only product in their acne lineup that doesn't have a scent. Instead, its smell comes from its natural plant ingredients. I can handle that!

This dab-on liquid treatment, which I apply with a cotton ball, just smells fresh and slightly medicinal in an herbal sort of way. The Targeted Spot Treatment is primarily Salicylic Acid derived from Willow Bark, with a variety of potent plant extracts and oils, such as calendula, which reduces inflammation and skin irritation, and tea tree, which has antibacterial properties.

I noticed a reduction of the size and severity of my blemishes the next day, and continued to use the product for about a week with good results to clear up a breakout on my back. I have since used The Targeted Spot Treatment several times and found it effective. I like the fact that the liquid contains soothing plant extracts to balance out the acne-fighting ingredients, which can dry and irritate skin. I never experienced either problrem with this product.

I think treating blemishes and acne probably varies greatly from person to person, so finding the right product for your skin can take some time. In fact, sometimes I use a different product on my face than on my back. I was happy with The Targeted Spot Treatment, and it was easy to use. It's also easy to pack for travel, too, since it comes in a small, less-then-one-ounce bottle.
