Blue Lotus Grocery Tote : Eco Fun
So, I'm not much of a tote person. I wear a day pack almost all the time, so I always have a place to put my things, with room left over if I stop at the grocery store on the way home. I've tested a lot of reusable grocery bags in the past year. They all did their jobs perfectly. Some of them even fold up into tiny pocket-size bundles - very handy. Also, I live across the street from a grocery store, so between having many reusable totes and shopping for only a couple of items at a time (I'm in there 3 times a day!) I tend to farm out tote reviews to my team members.
However, at the November Greenfest event in San Francisco, I met a nice lady who was selling reusable produce bags. We talked, she said she'd send some items to test, and I went on my busy way. I also got on with the rest of my CA vacation, and returned home to a pile of work that's keep my nose to the grindstone for months. But I have to take a break from that because I just found my adorable daisy grocery tote under a pile of clothes, and I want everyone to know about it!!!! You can't really tell by the photo (top), but the colors are really bright. It's a fun bag, the flowers are my favs (daisies), and it reminds me of spring. As you can see, the totes are available in a variety of patterns and colors.
What's cool about these Blue Lotus totes is that they're made out of remnants. Each bag is also made out of one piece of material, so that's cutting some waste, too. Nice. The bags are 100% cotton, with thick, sturdy cotton straps. The totes are available in many more colors and patterns then what I've shown here. Machine washable.
Rather than wad up my bag and carry it in a small day pack, I've been using my grocery tote as my "I'm going out for some errands bag." Some might call that a purse. Last week I took it to my doctor appointment, loaded with files and pill bottles. This week I stuffed it with my old yoga clothes to deliver them to a used clothing drop-off place. Who know where I will take it next. Eco Creds: reclaimed material, reusable product. Bottom Line: I love this colorful tote!. E.D. (Mar 10) BUY ONLINE: $10 Manufacturer's Site: www.bluelotusgoods.com
