Choices & Changes

Let's just assume you're already recycling. If not, start now. If your city/town doesn't have a program, start one. If everyone sticks with their changes, we can make a difference.

What Are You Doing to be Fancy Green?

Got a job that doesn't require travel,

...bring my own shopping bag, always carry my own water in resusable bottle (same for coffee mug), buy local food, preparing to paint interior of new house with eco-friendly paint. Shannon in Crested Butte, CO.

Reuse plastic food containers and bags,

...compost food scraps; one car family; bike commute (even in winter), breastfeed; recycle paper, plastic, glass, etc.; use Energy Star appliances. Brian, Misha, and Megan in Minneapolis, MN.

Almost never drive,

...carpool to my writer's group, bring my own bag to the grocery store, walk everywhere, use energy efficient light bulbs, recycle, carry my own stainless steel water bottle. My front-load washing machine uses 1/2 the water and 1/3 the electricity of a top load machine. Erika in Seattle, WA.
