Base, Part Two
We add Checks, Lips, and Eyes Products
(...continued from page one....) So, after our first trial, Natalie washed her face, we drank some tea, then started over again, using the primer, as well as Mineral Fusion's: Base products (Pressed Powder Foundation, Loose Powder Foundation); Cheeks products (Bronzer Duo and Blush Powder); Eyes product (Eye Pencil); Lips products (Lip Stick, Lip Gloss, and Liquid Lip Gloss).
Base
This time, Kamie started by applying the facial primer gel all over Natalie's face. First, she tried the Loose Powder Foundation, which has a sponge applicator that sits on top of the bottom (and a handy mirror on the inside of the cap). The purpose of this product: even out the skin tone. As before, she only applied the product on one side of Natalie's face so we could compare it with the Pressed Powder Foundation later.
Again I was impressed by how natural Natalie's skin looked with the foundation on. It wasn't cakey or brown or fake looking. In fact, it didn't look like she had on any makeup. It just looked like she had clean, evenly toned skin. And when I say evenly toned, I don't mean one color. Her own skin tone was still her "base." (Note: these products do not contain talc.)
Next, Kamie applied the Pressed Powder Foundation (pictured above) with a makeup brush. Although she liked both products, Kamie preferred using the Powder because she had more control over the application. She recommended that Natalie use the Loose Powder Foundation for travel, for tossing in her bag, and for other situations where she wants to just pack a few items, and use the Pressed Powder when she has more time to prepare for an outing and has her brushes available. What we all loved about the Pressed Powder is that it gave Natalie's skin a dewy look - is wasn't powdery or dusty. Again, Natalie and I were surprised that she didn't look makeupy, but completely natural.
Cheeks At this point, I was starting to rethink my whole "makeup is not for me" attitude. I was a little envious of how well this was all turning out for Natalie, and there I sat, with unconcealed red spots and blotches.

Anyway, it was time for a teeny bit of Blush Powder on the apples of Natalie's cheeks, followed by an all over the face dusting of Bronzer Duo. The blush gave Natalie's cheeks an airy look---but it was still not obvious there was makeup on her face. The duo, as Kamie explained, works like this: the light makeup gives the skin a shimmery glow and the dark makeup gives the skin a little tan. (Kamie's note to readers : "use just a little bit.").
Kamie mixed together the duo with her brush and applied a very tiny bit all over Natalie's face.
Lips & Eyes
Daytime Natalie Becomes Evening Natalie
Up to this point, Natalie's skin looked fresh and clean, and the makeup line seemed very simple to use. Then Kamie added Mineral Fusion's Lip Stick, which she applied, of course, with a lip brush for lightness and precision. She stood back from Natalie, and said, "very pretty." I got to watch Natalie beam at that comment! She looked fab. Her skin looked young and healthy. The products had a matte appearance, with a bit of dewy! A perfect balance. Kamie added the Lip Gloss, which has a sticky, tacky texture so it lasts longer and it glams up the lip stick. "I like this one a lot," said Kamie, "it's not too sticky."
The Liquid Lip Gloss is another "to go" product that Kamie recommended Natalie toss in her purse for quick color and shine applications.

Finally, the Eye Pencil. Kamie applied it on the top and bottom corners of Natalie's' eyes. It really made her eyes pop. They looked bigger and brighter. At this point, I blurted out, "Wow, now you're Evening Natalie." And she was. Her eyes were more intense, her lips were shimmery, and she looked beautiful. Kamie's application tip: "apply eye liner as close to the lashes as possible to avoid having a white line between your liner and lashes."
It was so fun watching Natalie's' expression when she got to look in the mirror. "I love it," she said," I don't want to take it off so I can look like this tomorrow, too. I'll be the best-looking boat washer ever."
Kamie just stood back admiring her work. "She looks like a sun-kissed Barbie," said Kamie, "who doesn't want to look like that?"
